Dark Archives

Project Image

A prototype mobile application to find and store manuscripts and other documents from around the world.

Project Overview

Dark Archives is a mobile application to digitally preserve historical manuscripts. It a prototype was built in my Innovation Teams course at UCCS.

The application allows users to take a picture of a manuscript and upload it to a server. The app aims to enable local communities to preserve their history and culture, while also making the manuscripts accessible to researchers and historians worldwide.

The team was able to complete a well-documented design plan by the end of the semester. A grant proposal was submitted to the National Endowment for the Humanities to fund the project and was approved for funding. The project is currently in the process of being developed.
